About

Plen-optic Time Space (PoTS) is a generic term of computational image generation as "free/arbitrary viewpoint image generation" and "re-focus image generation" that have basis on systematic observation, accumulation, description, and recovery of "light rays."

PoTS rose from the existing research activities such as "ray space theory," "image-based rendering, " and "three-dimensional video" in these twenty years and also has close connection to "computational photography" in recent years.

This committee attempts to reveal these elemental technologies from the viewpoint of the following factors.

  • PoTS data observation and acquisition
  • PoTS data conversion and accumulation
  • PoTS data processing and rendering

The aim of this committee is to construct systematic basis of this novel area in terms of theory and application.
